Rucker Doughnut Day 2009

6:00 a.m. Tom is rolling out the dough, preparing to cut out doughnuts. He's wearing the apron that his Mom made for him and gave to him at a couple's wedding shower in 1972. Notice it's still dark outside!

The doughnuts rose for 2 hours. Then it was time to cook them.

Tom is using his Mom's old black iron skillet - a must for good doughnuts. The doughnuts rose beautifully.

Here is the finished product of cooked and glazed doughnuts. This is before Tom cooked the dozens of doughnuts holes which I love.

Cindy McCraw and her son Cayden are taking good care of Cady Ivester. The McCraw's came by to help us eat the doughnuts.
Tom succeeded again with Doughnut Day! Delicious and very light. Of course, no calories at all.
